FRIDAY Lots of things due today…
NOTES: NEW NOTES...
**New Sight Words: well, too.
**On Friday March 13th
we are celebrating Goofy Glasses
day. Please work with your child to
decorate a pair of glasses (with lenses out) and send in on Friday.
**Friday March 13th
is Music Appreciation Day. Please check last week’s newsletter for
information about the day. Any student
who dresses down in rock and roll, country or Broadway musical attire is asked
to bring in a monetary donation to benefit the music programs at St. Lawrence
and Blessed Virgin Mary schools.
**Field trip permission slip
and money are due by March 13th.
**Scholastic Book forms
are due by March 13th.
**Merit Awards
can be used Tuesday or Thursday. If your
child is dressing up for Music Appreciation on Friday, this does not count for
Merit Award because that is a monetary donation.
REMINDERS
**We are
collecting toiletries for the retired Sisters
at Camilla Hall. Our class is
asked to bring in battery operated
toothbrushes, AA or AAA batteries and toothpaste. Thank you for your generosity in this Lenten
service.
**Our school is
participating in Rocky’s Reading
Challenge. There is a bookmark
in your child’s folder. Each time
they/you read a book, write the book on the bookmark. When they have done 10, send the bookmark
back to school. Your child will receive
2 tickets to attend a Blue Rock’s baseball game with the SSJ Family. The bookmark is due by the end of March.
**I would ask that
the girl families send in tissues, Clorox wipes and
napkins over the next week. We
do not need baggies. Thank you to those
who already sent in the supplies.
**Please give your
child a tube of Chapstick to
keep in their schoolbag that they can apply after snack and outdoor
recess. Many of the kids are complaining
that their lips are sore. TIA
**Parents of the
girls—for safety purposes, earrings
are not to be worn on gym day.
**Please, please,
send your child to school with a winter
coat, hat, and gloves going forward.
I was out at recess on Friday and to say that it was cold out is putting
it mildly! And the kids without the
proper coats were freezing! Unless it is
below 32 degrees, the kids go out after lunch.
**Some parents
have not sign up for the Remind App. Please text @dglatts to 81010 to receive
quick and easy communication from me about the class.
**Each week we
collect money for those in need. The
money that we collect on Mission Wednesday
is donated to the Missionary Childhood Association. The purpose is to encourage all children to
be aware of the needs of children living in mission diocese throughout the
world and support them both spiritually and sacrificially. Monies raised are directed towards self-help
programs involving the building of schools, assistance with health and
nutrition programs and medications, school fees, and teaching and learning
resources.
Thank you for your
generosity.
